Here we are in Stanley Park, Blackpool, at the Park Live Event in August 2001.

We provided workshops, letting everyone have a go.

And here we are with the Blackpool Tower in the background,
in the Grand Parade for Puppet Up 2001.

On 22nd May 2007 it was the Blackpool 'Puppet Up! festival. Here we see Poco Loco before the procession . . .

. . . then on the route.

A happy band!

Another part of the Puppet Up festival (following the morning's procession) was street performance in and around Blackpool town centre. Another local samba band (from Palatine School in Blackpool) had also taken part in the procession, and in the afternoon we had arranged to combine both bands to do a static performance. The directors of the two bands took turns to lead all the musicians - the number of players and sheer volume of the music made for an impressive show!

After playing at the opening of Blackpool's new Hounds Hill Shopping Centre in September 2008, the band visited our new friends at Sundaes Ice Cream Parlour (Cedar Square, Blackpool) where we had ice creams of indescribable magnificence (and what a range of flavours!)
We'll be back there again soon . . .

February 2009, and we are visited by a group of children from Belarus who are on a trip to Blackpool organised by the Blackpool link of Chernobyl Children's Lifeline.

Despite the language barrier, we soon got the children playing in time with us - and by the end of the evening, they managed to learn an entire rhythm, breaks and all!

In March 2009 we visited Myerscough College.

We led a lunchtime workshop session outside in the cold, but were pleased at the warm reception we received from both students and staff alike!

June 2009 sees Poco Loco taking part in Thornton Cleveleys' gala procession in the glorious sunshine, complete with Natalie belly-dancing to lead us

All eyes were on Natalie; the best the band could hope for was keeping the crowd's ears!

In September 2009 the World Fireworks Championships were held in Blackpool, so the band braved the evening air to play to the huge crowds who'd come out to see the fireworks display.

We played in the newly-finished St. John's Plaza in Blackpool town centre, underneath the brand new illuminated sculpture 'Wave' and surrounded by a very appreciative audience.

A group smile after performing!

December 2009 saw the grand re-opening of Birley Street in Blackpool after extensive regeneration work, and so the band went along to help make the event a special one. We played in the bitter winter cold to a select, but thoroughly appreciative audience (which also included Santa and his reindeer!).
